about me

090211_headshots_2020My name is Jonathan Reding.

I love to photograph. Everything.

My blog is a progression that journals my journey to this point in my life. The blog is a progression that  begain from personal writings aimed at staying connected to campers from a summer camp I was a counselor at for several summers (ACU Leadership Camps), to personal journaling about faith and the struggle to love and grow, to an ongoing portfolio of my recent work.

I currently work for a photography studio in Amarillo, Texas and spend my off time loving on my beautiful wife and photographing a wide range of subjects. No doubt that you will see countless images of dramatic skies since Amarillo has its fair share of beautiful sunsets and astounding cloud-filled skies that leave you feeling incredibly small.

My first memory of learning photography was from my dad on a Nikon N90 film camera. We were on a whirlwind trip in Hawaii and he was trying to teach me about the way shutter speed affects the look of a waterfall. I didn’t have the patience I need at that time to soak up those valuable lessons then but the summer before a mission trip to New Zealand I invested in a Nikon D70 and have been hooked into photography since that purchase.

It was a hobby of mine until KB and I found out we were going to moving to Amarillo for a couple of years to finish up her time in Medical School with Texas Tech Health Sciences Center. When I started the job search for openings in Amarillo I took a chance and printed off some of my hobby pictures and the rest… well take a look through the blog to see where I’m at now.

Thanks for coming to visit the blog. Leave questions, comments, inquiries in the comment section below.
